health,

What's Wrong With Me? NONE!

First of all, I am writing this not because I owe you explanation, but because I want to feed your curiosity. This is a brave move for me, kasi konti lang ang may alam nito. Pero naubos na ang pasensya ko eh.. First, bago palang po kaming mag-asawa. And third, I have PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. But before you judge me, let me explain to you what PCOS is.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a Hormonal disorder. It can effect ones Menstrual cycle, appearance, blood vessel, heart and also the ability to have children. But having PCOS doesn't mean that you are infertile or baog.

Women with PCOS typically have high levels of male hormones, thus the increase in facial hair and male patterned baldness. Missed or irregular periods, which is the most common symptom, and several to many small cysts in their ovaries. They also have a sudden increase in weight which is sometimes uncontrollable. And worse is having acne and patches on your skin. Good thing I'm moving on from these.

Bakit ko ba ito sinasabi sa inyo? I want you to know what I'm going through. I am currently being monitored and given medications by my OB Gyne. I am also trying to lose some weight, because as per research, weight is one of the many factors that can worsen my situation.

I am telling you this because everyone needs awareness. Sobrang dumadami na yung mga kilala ko who are experiencing this. You can help yout sister, your mother, your friend na pwedeng meron nito to raise awareness.

Walang makapag-sasabi where ito nagmula. But based from my experience, it started when I worked in the call center industry. Kasi you work at night, na-sisira yung body clock mo, and yun ang number one na kalaban ng mga hormones!

So pano ko nalaman na may PCOS ako? Nag-research ako. I observed my body, my self. Kasi nagiging moody, depressed and emotional na rin ako. Blame it to my hormones! Then I've decided to seek help from a doctor. She performed TVS or Transvaginal Ultrasound and dun nya nakita na PCOS nga ako, but the good thing is manageable naman and slight lang.

As of now, I am doing well.. Sooner or later magkaka-baby na kami. Sabi ng OB ko, I'm improving. Please don't judge me. I am going through difficult time here. Wag ng dagdagan.

And I know, God has plans for us. I know there's something in store for us. Malay natin, baka kambal o triplets pa :) Thank you for reading. Hope this helps.
